Reddit Profile Follower Growth Calculator Without Confusing Communities and Views
Measure the audience that follows a Reddit profile, not the size of subreddits where the account posts or the views a discussion receives.
Reddit has several kinds of audience. A subreddit has members, a post has viewers, and a user profile can have followers. If you want to measure growth of a Reddit profile, only the last of those belongs in the count fields. The calculator turns two dated profile follower counts into net change and pace.
That distinction matters because a useful post can be read by thousands of people in a community without producing many profile followers. It may still have been successful for a discussion goal. Follower growth is one outcome to track, not a universal grade for Reddit activity.
Find and record the profile follower count
Record the number of people following the same profile on two dates. If you are using Reddit Pro, account performance includes a follower total and downloadable account metrics. If you are recording it manually, keep the date with each snapshot so future comparisons stay clear.
Do not enter subreddit membership, post upvotes, karma, or post views as profile follower count. Those can explain what happened during the window, but they represent different behaviors. For a brand, it may also help to note which communities the account participated in without merging their memberships into one audience number.
Profile and community are different units
A member of a subreddit is not automatically a follower of the account that posted there. Keep both numbers labeled.
Calculate Reddit profile follower growth
Take current profile followers minus starting profile followers to get the net change. Divide that difference by the starting count and multiply by 100 for a percentage, when the starting count is above zero. The interval between your dates supplies the pace.
Profile example
A profile has 120 followers on July 1 and 156 on August 10. Across 40 days, the net gain is 36. That is 36 / 120 x 100 = 30% growth, but only 0.9 net followers per day. Both figures are important.
Small starting accounts can show large percentages from relatively few follows. It is often clearer to lead with the absolute gain and then add the percentage as context.
Use post and comment performance to understand the profile trend
Review the posts and comments that brought meaningful conversation during the window. Did a practical answer lead people to visit the profile? Did a series of contributions in the same subject make the account recognizable? These questions are more useful than assuming that every upvote is an eventual follower.
Reddit Pro account performance distinguishes follower totals from views and engagement. Use that separation in your own report. A profile can gain followers while its post views decline, or receive broad post views while follower count stays flat. Each pattern suggests a different follow-up question.
The Reddit engagement rate guide examines post-level response. Keep profile growth beside that measure when deciding whether a topic is worth continuing.
Set a Reddit follower target with the right scale
In the example, a goal of 250 followers is 94 beyond the current 156. At 0.9 net followers per day, the straight-line estimate is about 105 more days. That date is most useful as an order-of-magnitude check, not as a deadline to force every discussion toward a follow.
If the profile starts contributing in a new area, the old pace may stop being representative. Record a new window and see whether the contributions actually changed the follower trend. The slower and faster scenarios help show how sensitive the milestone date is to a small daily difference.
Review Reddit profile growth without flattening the context
Keep a dated count, a short list of useful contributions, and notes on where they appeared. Review the quality of replies as well as raw activity. A low-follower-growth week can still reveal a valuable topic or a community where the account is building recognition.
SMTasker currently supports Reddit comments, upvotes, and comment upvotes on connected Android devices. Its log helps you see which supported actions ran. Compare that operational record with profile analytics; do not treat activity volume as a direct follower-growth formula.

FAQ
Reddit growth questions
Can I use subreddit members as the starting count?
No. Subreddit members belong to a community, not to the profile audience. Use profile followers at both dates.
Are karma points followers?
No. Karma reflects voting on contributions and is not a count of people following the profile.
Why can my growth percentage look high with few new followers?
A small starting denominator magnifies percentage change. Report net followers and the date window beside the percentage.
