Images are processed locally. This is not a replica of a platform feed.

Local processing only. Presets are editable working sizes. Outputs: 64–4096 px per side, up to 10 frames and 20 megapixels per set. No automatic publishing.

The method

One consistent layout behind every frame

Set the frame

Choose a working size or enter width and height. In split mode, those dimensions describe each individual image.

Master width = frame width × count

Choose what stays visible

Fill the shape with a deliberate crop, or fit the complete source with padding. The position controls shift the same master across the set.

Preserve proportions, choose the framing

Export in order

Inspect each preview, save one frame or download the numbered set. The PDF records the choices for review.

One source → ordered image files

Resize the image for the job it needs to do

A useful social media image starts with a clear subject, not a list of dimensions. A product photograph needs to show the product. A diagram needs readable labels. A thumbnail needs to communicate its main idea when it appears small. The same source can serve several purposes, but it rarely works equally well when every platform receives the same crop. This image resizer gives you a separate export without changing the original file.

Choose the platform context, then select an editable working size or enter your own width and height. The presets are convenient starting points for common shapes. They are not a claim that every placement, composer or account uses one fixed size. A feed image, a story still and a channel thumbnail may belong to the same platform while needing quite different compositions. Prepare the correct version for the actual destination.

Look at the preview before you export. A technically correct rectangle can still be a poor image if it removes the useful detail or leaves the subject too small. Adjust the fit and position until the visual says what you need it to say. Then check the exported file in the native composer, where final wrapping, image groups and display crops become visible.

Understand the difference between resize, crop and padding

Resizing changes the number of pixels in an output. Cropping chooses which part of the source fills a different shape. Padding keeps the complete source visible by adding space around it. These are different decisions, even when they happen during one export. The tool preserves the source proportions instead of stretching a person, product or diagram to fill an unrelated rectangle.

Crop to fill covers the complete output canvas. If the shapes differ, part of the source falls outside the frame. The horizontal and vertical position controls decide which part remains visible. Fit whole image keeps the full source inside the output area, with the chosen background filling the remaining space. For PNG and WebP, you can choose transparent padding when that is appropriate for the destination.

Choose the method according to what can be lost. A photograph may have room for a tighter crop. A labelled chart, comparison screenshot or finished poster may need all its edges, making fit a better starting point. Padding is not a failure to fill a frame. It is a deliberate way to preserve information when rebuilding the design is not part of this task.

Split one wide master into an ordered image sequence

Carousel mode treats the source as one continuous horizontal master. It prepares equal-size panels from left to right, with numbered filenames that preserve the intended order. This is useful for a panorama, a visual walkthrough or an existing design created to span several frames. It is not a generator that invents separate slides from an ordinary photograph.

The panel width and height describe each exported image. The full working master is panel width multiplied by panel count, with the same height. Three 800 by 1000 panels therefore form a 2400 by 1000 master. The built-in example uses exactly that relationship, so you can inspect a clean split before trying a source with a different shape. The green line across the example makes adjacent edges easy to compare.

A split set is a collection of image files, not a guarantee about the platform interface. Some destinations support multi-image posts; others need separate story images or a single selected asset. YouTube thumbnail preparation, for example, is a single-image task rather than a native swipe carousel. Use the files in the supported placement you actually intend to publish.

Plan the first frame and every seam before exporting

A continuous design still needs useful individual frames. The first image should make sense without assuming a visitor will view the whole set. Put the main subject or the reason to continue inside that first frame. Subsequent frames can reveal more detail, develop a process or complete a visual sequence. A technically seamless panorama can disappoint when the opening frame contains only empty background.

Inspect the numbered thumbnails in order, then select each frame at a larger size. Keep an important word, face or product feature away from a cut when it needs to be understood as a whole. The split tool does not move text or rebuild a design around its seams. If a headline lands across two files, the better fix may be to revise the master rather than hoping a platform will hide the boundary.

Allow for the viewing environment too. A composer may add gaps, use a grouped layout or show an initial crop that differs from the full image. These previews are not always identical across devices. Treat the export as a prepared asset set and review the actual post before publishing. That final check is where you confirm whether the visual sequence survives its intended display.

Use source resolution to make realistic quality decisions

More output pixels do not automatically mean more detail. Enlarging a small source produces a larger file containing enlarged source information. The preview warns when the chosen layout requires upscaling. That warning helps you decide whether to use a smaller output, find a better original or accept a softer result for a particular use. The tool does not apply AI reconstruction or invent missing detail.

For a split set, compare the source with the complete master, not just one panel. A photograph that is large enough for one square may become stretched when it must fill several squares side by side. Increasing the panel count expands the required master width. This is why a wide original or a purpose-built design usually works better than forcing a narrow portrait into a long panorama.

Keep the highest-quality original separately. Do not repeatedly resize an already compressed export when a cleaner source is available. Each new version should begin from that original when possible. For screenshots and diagrams, inspect the smallest label you need readers to understand. If it is unclear in the source, changing the export dimensions will not make the original information magically legible.

Choose JPG, PNG or WebP for the actual content

JPG is a practical choice for many photographs when you want an adjustable balance between file size and visible compression. PNG suits images where lossless output and transparency matter, such as clean diagrams or graphics with sharp edges. WebP offers another option when the intended destination accepts it. The tool checks that the browser produced the selected format rather than silently giving a PNG a different extension.

The quality slider applies to JPG and WebP. PNG export uses lossless encoding, so lowering a quality number would be misleading; the control is disabled for that format. A quality setting is not a guaranteed file size. Image complexity, dimensions and encoder behavior all affect the resulting bytes. Open the downloaded file and check its size when your placement has a specific upload budget.

Transparency needs an intentional background decision. JPG cannot retain transparent pixels, so the selected background is used when it is needed. PNG and WebP can keep transparent padding if you enable it. Check the image against the destination background, especially when light lettering or a pale logo was designed for a dark surface. The checkerboard preview is an editing aid, not part of the exported image.

Adapt the same source without pretending every platform is alike

Instagram and TikTok guides focus on visual sequences and portrait composition, but they do not ask the same questions. A photo-led series can depend on a strong opening image, while a continuous panorama depends on how neighboring crops connect. Facebook and Threads may need images that remain understandable beside a conversation. X can present several images in a grouped view, making each individual crop important.

LinkedIn often introduces another decision: whether you are preparing ordinary images or a separate document presentation. This tool exports images and a review PDF; that review PDF is not a finished document carousel. YouTube guidance concentrates on thumbnail hierarchy and small-preview readability. Snapchat guidance treats exported stills as story assets rather than inventing a native carousel feature. Reddit guidance prioritizes useful visual context and the gallery options available in the chosen community.

The same editing engine can serve these tasks because width, height, crop and padding are reusable operations. The surrounding choices still belong to the actual placement. Follow the platform guide closest to your task, then use the tool to prepare a version. You do not need to apply a panorama treatment to every image just because the splitter is available.

Use the downloads as a small, organized handoff

Download image saves the current single output. In split mode, Download frame saves the selected panel. Download ZIP packages the complete ordered set with a short settings note. This is useful when a teammate needs to upload the files or when you want to keep the same export together. Filenames include the chosen context and a padded sequence number, so frame 02 remains visibly different from frame 10.

Download PDF creates a review/contact sheet containing the settings, ordered visual previews and a practical checklist. Use it to discuss crops, check the sequence or approve an asset set. It is not the image set itself, and it is not a publish-ready platform document. The individual image files remain the outputs to use for image placements. The PDF footer links back to this exact tool so the editing context is easy to find.

Give the set a useful place in your existing content process. Keep the original, the approved outputs and any caption together under the same project or post reference. If you change the crop later, make it clear which version replaces the earlier set. Good file organization saves time when several accounts use related creative material but need different final assets.

Keep the image preparation private and predictable

The selected image is read and processed inside the browser. You do not connect a social account, send the file to an AI model or upload it to the SMTasker server for resizing. The tool does not retain a draft library in local storage. Reloading or closing the page removes the working state, so download the outputs you need before leaving.

The input supports still JPG, PNG and WebP files. Animated files, SVG, video and unsupported formats are not converted into a hidden fallback. The tool uses a 20 MB input-file ceiling and checks source dimensions before decoding large images. Output dimensions and the combined pixel budget also have practical caps to keep browser work manageable. These are utility safeguards, not statements about native platform posting limits.

Fresh exports are rendered from the decoded image rather than copying the original EXIF metadata into a new file. Orientation is handled during image decoding so ordinary phone photographs can be prepared in the intended direction. Keep the original if its metadata matters to your own records. For publication, inspect the new file itself rather than assuming a familiar filename guarantees that the image was exported correctly.

Connect the prepared image to the rest of the post

Once the crop is clear, give it words that match what people can actually see. A caption should explain the useful context, not repeat every label already printed on the image. The Caption Builder can help organize your own topic and details into editable drafts. If a short opening matters, use the Character Counter & Post Preview to review the text beside the creative decision.

For recurring work, place the approved asset set into a repeatable plan rather than deciding each post from scratch. The Content Calendar Generator helps arrange topics and preparation tasks. Keep a note of the source image, output shape, caption and purpose. When another platform needs a different crop, the original and that note give you a clear starting point instead of a folder of unexplained exports.

SMTasker can provide the operating layer for supported account tasks from connected Android devices and a Windows or macOS client. Skye helps with available workspace context and supported settings, while external AI clients can work through MCP access. Image preparation here remains a separate local utility. Use the right supported routine for the account work behind the creative, then review the outcome as part of the next content cycle.

Resize without cropping

Keeping the entire picture is easy to describe but often misunderstood. A full-image resize preserves the composition while changing its scale; it does not necessarily preserve every original pixel unchanged.

Questions about image resizing and splitting

Does my image leave the browser?

The resizing, previews and exports are local. The tool does not upload your selected image for processing or retain a private image history.

Does carousel mode create separate slide designs?

No. It crops one continuous horizontal source into equal-size numbered panels. Create the content in the master first, then inspect every resulting frame.

Can I resize without cutting off part of the image?

Choose Fit whole image. The complete source stays visible with background padding. PNG and WebP can keep transparent padding when selected.

Are the preset sizes mandatory platform specifications?

No. They are editable working sizes for common shapes. Choose the actual placement and confirm the final image in its current native composer.

Can this improve a blurry original or resize a video?

It does not invent missing detail, sharpen with AI or process video. Use a better source when possible. The output warning identifies layouts that enlarge source pixels.

Is the PDF suitable for a LinkedIn document carousel?

The PDF is a review/contact sheet with settings and notes. It is not a designed document presentation. Download the image files for image placements.
