Take one complete HTML file to a real public address
Publish a Link in Bio Page
Downloading a page and publishing a page are different jobs. Use a clear handoff between the person approving the links and the person managing the website so the right file reaches the right public address.
Prepare the document in the Link in Bio Builder, then publish it through your own suitable hosting. SMTasker does not host the export, create a domain, or install the page into a social profile.
Agree the public address before the handoff
Morrow Reading Room is a hypothetical independent venue with an existing website and a part-time website administrator. Its programme editor wants one small page linking to current reading groups, desk reservations, visitor access information, and meeting room hire. The editor can write and approve those routes but does not manage the web server. That division is normal. The publishing task begins by agreeing who owns the public address, which directory will contain the file, and who can replace it later. A downloaded document becomes useful to visitors only after someone places it on hosting that serves it through a reachable web address.
For this worked example, the administrator approves a dedicated links directory on the venue’s own site. The illustrative address https://morrow.example/links/ is a reserved example, not a working venue page. The actual team must use a domain and path it controls. Choosing a stable address now means the editor can refer to the same page after the reading programme changes. It also prevents an accidental upload over the website homepage. Do not guess that a folder is unused because it does not appear in the navigation. The administrator should confirm both existing files and any application routes that already use that path.
Separate the landing address from its destinations. The public links page is the front door; reading group information, desk reservations, access details, and room hire remain on their existing pages. The builder does not migrate those pages or supply the booking system. For Morrow, four routes are enough because each serves a distinct visitor intention. Keep the programme first, reservations second, access information third, and room hire fourth. That is a hypothetical editorial decision, not a universal ranking rule. The administrator needs this approved order and the final file, not the responsibility to infer the venue’s priorities while uploading it.
Approve the public content before making a release
Enter Morrow Reading Room Links as Page title and use Bio to explain the four routes in plain language. Small label (optional), Monogram (optional), and Footer (optional) can add useful identity, but none is a private production note. Choose a palette and Solid or Outline buttons from the available presets. The page cannot accept images, custom CSS, or arbitrary HTML. Treat this as a focused public document rather than a place to sketch an entire website redesign. The programme editor should approve the words and destination order before asking the administrator to spend time on a release that may immediately need replacing.
Every link in the collection appears publicly in ready exports. Link to edit changes the selected editor item, while Move up and Move down change the public order. There is no unpublished or inactive link switch. If a future room hire page is unfinished, remove that item from the release or finish an appropriate public destination first. Ready HTML requires the page title plus every link title and HTTPS address; the tool does not quietly omit incomplete rows. Save project can preserve an incomplete draft separately. That difference lets the editor keep working without misrepresenting a partly finished collection as a complete public page.
Open every destination separately and confirm its purpose, public access, and current content. The URL check verifies structure and presents a normalized ASCII address; it does not establish that the page exists or belongs to the venue. Read queries and fragments, which remain in exported links. A desk reservation URL copied from an administrator session may carry a private booking reference even if its syntax is accepted. Use the public reservation entry point instead. The venue must also decide whether the destination itself is appropriate to share. An approved link title is not a substitute for checking the actual form, policy, or information behind it.
Understand the document that Download HTML creates
Download HTML produces a complete standalone document named index.html. It includes the authored public text, all ordered links, embedded styles, and system fonts. It is not a collection of snippets that needs a separate theme file to look like the preview. The export includes document information such as its title, description, language, and mobile viewport setting. It does not contain a script, form, iframe, image upload, or remote font. This makes the publishing handoff small, but it does not remove the need for hosting. Opening index.html on the editor computer proves only that the local file can be read by that browser.
The exported links use HTTPS destinations, open in a new tab, and include noopener and noreferrer. They keep the supplied query parameters and fragments rather than adding tracking values. The page itself has no click counter or automatic campaign attribution. Its content security policy restricts the document to the intended static presentation. If a hosting service tries to inject banners, tracking scripts, or other extra behavior, ask the administrator to inspect the served result rather than assuming it remains identical to the download. Visitors following a link still make a normal request to that destination; a static landing page does not make external sites private.
Keep the downloaded HTML unchanged for the first review. If you need to correct a title, reorder a destination, or change the palette, return to the project in the builder and export again. Hand-editing one public file while keeping an older project creates two competing versions of the page. A later export can then erase a correction nobody remembered to copy back. For Morrow, the editor owns the builder content and the administrator owns deployment. Each approved release should have a matching project and HTML document, stored together outside the public website directory where they cannot be mistaken for visitor downloads.
Choose a static upload location without disturbing the website
Ask the hosting administrator how a standalone HTML document should be deployed on the actual site. A suitable service may offer a file manager, a secure file transfer workflow, or an existing deployment process. The builder does not require a particular provider and does not request hosting credentials. Use the method the site already supports. For the approved links path, the conceptual arrangement is a dedicated directory containing index.html. The directory name in a hosting control panel may differ from the public path, so confirm that mapping rather than treating an example folder name as an instruction that fits every server.
Before replacing anything, the administrator should retain the current file from that dedicated location and record which public page it serves. The editor should not upload index.html to the website root simply because it is the only HTML file in the handoff. Doing so could replace an existing homepage or interfere with a different application. For Morrow, the upload is scoped to the previously approved links directory. No database, payment page, theme, or shared stylesheet needs changing to author this document. If the site cannot serve a separate static directory safely, stop the upload and agree another suitable hosting location with its owner.
An existing WordPress website does not turn the complete export into a ready Custom HTML block. A full document includes its own head, body, metadata, and styles; inserting all of that into a normal page editor is not a promised publishing method. Ask the administrator for an approved static path or another appropriate deployment arrangement. Do not improvise theme edits or paste the full file into a block to avoid the hosting conversation. The useful deliverable remains the standalone document. Any integration into a different publishing system requires its own technical review, permissions, and testing outside the builder rather than a claim of automatic compatibility.
Prepare the release before the upload
Build the complete public document
Approve the page text and every destination, then download the standalone HTML for your hosting administrator.
Upload the approved file and verify the served address
Send the approved index.html to the administrator through the team’s normal file handoff and identify the agreed public path in the accompanying message. Keep passwords and account recovery details out of that message and every builder field. The administrator uploads or deploys the document using the site’s authorized process, then returns the actual public HTTPS address. That address, not a local file path or the hosting control panel URL, is what belongs in an eligible social website field. SMTasker does not perform the upload or issue a hosted address after download. The venue owns the hosting account and its ongoing administration.
Open the returned address in a signed-out browser session. Confirm the expected page title, four destinations, footer, and current order. A page that asks for the hosting login is not the public result. A browser download prompt instead of a rendered page may indicate an unsuitable response type or hosting configuration. If the directory address fails while the explicit index.html address works, ask the administrator to check its index-document behavior and choose the intended public URL. Do not silently circulate both versions without deciding which one will be maintained. Also confirm that HTTPS works without a certificate warning before adding the page to a profile.
A successful HTTP status alone is not enough: some hosts return a generic error page with a successful response. Read the actual content and follow the links. Conversely, a redirect can be intentional when the site consistently chooses one hostname or path, but the final destination should still be the approved page. Leave redirect and certificate configuration to the site owner rather than changing domain settings casually for this small release. For Morrow, the administrator confirms the upload path while the programme editor confirms the visitor content. Those two checks answer different questions and should both happen before the page becomes part of a public invitation.
Test the public page as a visitor would use it
Test at a narrow mobile width, a wider desktop width, and an enlarged text setting. Long link titles and descriptions should remain readable without hiding the final words. Use the keyboard to move through the destinations and check that each label explains where it goes. Current reading groups and Hire the meeting room are more useful choices than two buttons both called Learn more. The page is a navigation aid, so ambiguity in its main controls undermines its purpose. The live builder preview helps inspect wrapping but is non-navigating and cannot replace this test of the actual public document and its real links.
Follow the four routes in order from the hosted page. The reservations destination should open the correct visitor form, access information should describe the actual venue, and room hire should not expose an internal enquiry record. Check how returning to the landing page feels after a destination opens a new tab. If something fails, identify whether the problem belongs to the exported document, the hosting path, or the destination website. Repeatedly exporting HTML cannot fix a private booking form. Likewise, correcting the booking form does not replace a stale landing file. Assign the fix to the part of the route that is actually wrong.
Only after that review should the editor add the hosted address to a native profile surface that actually offers a website field. Platform eligibility and placement vary; choosing Preparing for does not grant a clickable field or edit an account. If the venue also needs a printed poster, the Social Media QR Code Generator can prepare a separate code for the tested public address. Scan a real-size proof before printing the batch. A QR code neither hosts the page nor keeps its information current. It simply creates another entry route whose value depends on the address continuing to work.
Replace a release deliberately and keep a way back
Save project creates the editable JSON, not a copy of hosting configuration or a record of every earlier revision. There is no autosave. Keep the approved project with its exported HTML and a short external release note identifying the date, public path, and approving editor. When the reading programme changes, open the correct project, revise the affected route, and export a new complete document. An invalid project import preserves the current draft, but a valid old project can still contain outdated content. Check the programme link before proceeding rather than treating successful import as evidence that the venue’s latest release has been recovered.
Have the administrator replace only the approved file at the agreed location using the existing deployment process. Keep the previous release outside public reach for rollback. After uploading, revisit the public URL and confirm a distinctive changed label or destination. Browser and hosting caches can show an earlier copy, so ask the administrator to use the host appropriate cache controls when necessary. Do not work around a stale release by creating an unplanned second public path and updating only one profile. That multiplies addresses to maintain. A stable route with a verified replacement is easier to keep accurate than several similar pages whose ownership is unclear.
Use the Content Calendar Generator to plan the communications around a programme change when that helps the editor’s workload. Keep deployment approval as a separate task in the venue’s own process; the planner does not publish the page or notify the administrator automatically. If campaign parameters are needed for a defined reporting setup, prepare them separately with the UTM Link Builder and test the resulting destination. Remember that this exported page has no hosted analytics. Parameter labels can support another system, but the builder cannot tell you how many people reserved desks or attribute a reservation to a particular post.
Hand over the project without turning notes into public data
A useful final handoff contains the approved HTML, editable project JSON, public address, and the identity of the person responsible for future changes. Send those through the normal team workflow, not by uploading every working file beside index.html. A public directory may expose files whose names someone can guess even when the page does not link to them. The builder cannot configure server access controls. Keep private release notes, account details, and backup files in the team’s own storage. The project itself should contain only text and destinations appropriate for public export, because all its authored fields belong to the visitor page.
Use the PDF for a readable proof and complete ordered destination review when a reviewer does not need to edit the project. It includes complete project JSON as an attachment, so sharing the report shares that data too. The PDF pages are rasterized; use TXT, CSV, or copied links when selectable text or exact address comparison is needed. None of these review files is the public landing page. If the PDF is too large to produce, the full text and data exports remain appropriate handoff alternatives. The administrator still needs the approved index.html and agreed path to complete the actual website publication.
SMTasker can support a separate workflow for supported recurring account actions once the venue has a reliable editorial and publishing routine. It does not host this document, import the HTML project, or measure external clicks from the exported page. Keep those boundaries clear in the handoff so a future colleague knows which system owns which task. For Morrow, the finished result is straightforward: one maintained public address, four truthful destinations, an editable source project, and an administrator who can replace the page safely. That arrangement is more durable than a download left on one laptop and a profile link nobody remembers how to update.
Questions about Publish Your Page
Does Download HTML give me a public link?
No. It gives you a complete local index.html file. Publish it through your own suitable hosting, obtain the public HTTPS address, and test that address without a hosting login.
Can I paste the complete file into a WordPress Custom HTML block?
That is not a promised publishing route. The export is a full document with its own metadata and styles. Ask your administrator for a suitable static path or a separately reviewed integration instead of pasting the entire document into a normal block.
Will editing a saved project update the hosted page?
No. Open and edit the project, download a new complete HTML file, and replace the approved hosted file through your own deployment process. Then check the public address for the new revision.
