A custom club image, not a different kind of avatar

Reddit Profile Picture Maker

Prepare a tabletop club image for an account avatar while keeping custom pictures, styled Snoo avatars, and community icons clearly separate.

Start in the Reddit-context Profile Picture Maker with a supplied local still image. The tool creates one circular composition in a square image file. It does not style a Snoo avatar, connect to Reddit, or update a user profile or community.

Decide whether you are changing an account or a community

A tabletop club can have several visual identities on Reddit without those identities being interchangeable. A club account has an account avatar. A community has its own icon, managed separately through community appearance controls. A person may also use the Reddit avatar builder to style a Snoo character instead of uploading a custom image. Decide which of these you mean before preparing artwork. In this hypothetical example, Thursday Table wants a custom image for the account that shares session recaps and answers club questions. Its task is an account picture, not a redesign of the community icon or a new outfit for a styled avatar.

Reddit documents both creating a custom avatar and uploading an image to use as an avatar. This guide concerns the uploaded-image route. The supplied club artwork will become a still picture, not an editable character inside the Reddit avatar builder. A PNG containing a drawing of a mascot remains an image file; it does not become a native styled avatar merely because the subject looks character-like. Keep that distinction clear when handing the result to another club organizer. Ask for approval of the finished account image rather than approval of a Snoo design the tool does not create or control.

The community icon is another separate deliverable. Reddit documents a 300 by 300 image for that icon, which must not be reused as a universal account-avatar specification. The maker offers 400, 800, and 1024 square working canvases, not a dedicated 300-pixel community export. If the club later needs a community icon, treat that as a new destination check and prepare the required derivative separately. Changing the account picture does not change the community icon, even when both use the same emblem. A clear handoff names the destination and the intended account or community so a familiar symbol is not mistaken for permission to change everything.

Select an emblem that represents the club rather than one session

Thursday Table begins with a session photograph showing a game board, player hands, name cards, and a hand-drawn map. It captures the atmosphere but offers no single obvious identity at a small size. The club instead supplies existing emblem artwork: two overlapping game tiles with a simple three-pip die above them. The full club name sits below the symbol in the original design. For the account picture, the group can choose the compact symbol and let the account name supply the words. This is a hypothetical design decision, not an automatic extraction performed by the tool. Prepare the desired emblem as one finished source image.

Use a still PNG, JPEG, or WebP within the local source limits: 15 MiB, 40 megapixels, and no edge longer than 12000 pixels. The prepared working PNG is bounded by 2048 pixels on an edge, 4 megapixels, and 2 MiB. These are processing limits, not promises about Reddit file acceptance. A detailed session photograph may lose fine writing during preparation, while a clean emblem may remain straightforward to inspect. Neither result should be described as an improvement created by AI. The maker does not invent a mascot, remove a table background, identify faces, or turn a photograph into separated editable design elements.

Review the complete source for material that should not be included in an editable handoff. A session photo can show player names, an unpublished campaign map, or a note about a future meeting location. A circular crop is not a way to remove that information from the saved project. Even the emblem sheet may contain unused drafts or internal wording beyond the selected area. Prepare a clean standalone source when those details do not belong with the account artwork. This keeps the job focused on visual composition. There is no need to carry a whole session record through the editor when the approved deliverable only needs a compact club symbol.

Use the circular study without assuming every Reddit surface matches

The local preview uses a circle because this tool is designed for circular composition. That is a deliberate artwork choice, not a claim that all Reddit views use an identical circular mask. Account profiles, conversations, app versions, and community appearance contexts are not one universal template. Keep essential parts of the emblem away from the outer boundary and inspect the actual destination after a manual change. If a particular view presents the image differently, the local circle cannot certify that behavior in advance. The preview helps answer whether the tiles and die survive this composition; it does not map every place Reddit might display them.

A square source still has corners that lie outside a circle of the same width. A die placed in the upper-right corner of the source can therefore disappear even when the square crop appears to include it. Imagine the emblem arranged across a prepared 1200 by 1200 canvas, with one tile near each side and the die high above them. Centering the square is not enough to protect those outer elements. Bring the important shapes into a more compact source arrangement or use whole-image fit. The maker does not reposition individual objects. It moves and scales the supplied image as a single composition.

Leave some visible breathing room for recognition rather than treating the circle edge as a target every shape must touch. A club emblem can remain clear even if it occupies less than the maximum available diameter. Conversely, too much empty source canvas can make the actual symbol unexpectedly tiny. Compare the visible footprint of the tiles, not simply the dimensions reported for the image file. Transparent margins count as part of the supplied rectangle. A good source has intentional spacing around the emblem, with enough room to survive the chosen circle but no large accidental border inherited from an unrelated poster or print layout.

Compare a cropped symbol with a complete emblem

Photo crop, or Cover, selects a source square and clips the drawing into the inner circle. Use it when the compact symbol can fill that circle without losing a tile corner or a pip. Zoom runs from 100% to 400%, with position controls from 0 to 100. Those controls describe this editor, not Reddit account settings. For a prepared 1200 by 800 image, 100% zoom selects an 800-pixel square. Centered horizontal position starts it 200 pixels from the left; centered vertical position has no travel because the crop already spans the full source height. More zoom creates travel on both axes and excludes more of the source.

Fit whole image, or Contain, preserves the entire prepared rectangle within an inscribed square inside the inner circle. On an 800-pixel canvas with a 3% border and 3% gap, the picture diameter is 704 pixels. The inscribed square is about 498 pixels wide. A 1200 by 800 emblem then fits into roughly 498 by 332 pixels. The full name and outer details survive, but the tiles and die occupy less of the available canvas. This is why complete fit can look unexpectedly modest. It protects the image corners geometrically rather than enlarging the most important object until it dominates the circle.

Compare these modes using the same source and the same 32-pixel check. If the name becomes unreadable in both, decide whether the source should omit the lettering for this particular deliverable. Do not compensate by pushing Photo crop until only half the club symbol remains. Whole-image fit leaves Photo crop zoom and position choices stored but inactive, so switching modes does not mean those numbers control both compositions. Save a reference project before replacing the source or making another major revision. There is one current image composition, not an automatically saved collection of club alternatives. The final choice should have a reason someone else can understand.

Keep club preparation focused

Explore SMTasker for supported Reddit account routines and activity review. Club emblem approval, community-icon decisions, and native picture changes remain separate manual tasks.

Protect the pips and spaces before decorating the edge

The three pips are a useful detail only if they remain separate. Inspect them at 32, 64, and 128 CSS pixels, with particular attention to the smallest view. A die that turns into a dark square may no longer add anything useful to the emblem. The overlapping tiles may need to carry the identity instead. These local checks do not reproduce every Reddit placement or physical device. They show how the current composition behaves at three specific CSS sizes. If the source detail collapses, revise that detail in the artwork or choose a simpler source rather than assuming a bigger export will make the same tiny display readable.

Try a ring only after the interior symbol is working. Thursday Table might compare no ring with a 2% ring and a 2% gap. On an 800-pixel canvas, each is 16 pixels and the inner image diameter becomes 736 pixels. At a 32 CSS-pixel study, the ring and gap each correspond to 0.64 CSS pixels. A thin line can therefore look much less substantial than it did enlarged. Increasing the ring might improve the outer boundary but also reduce the tiles. Judge the whole emblem each time. The control percentages are design settings, not native padding requirements or verified safe areas for Reddit.

Choose background and ring colors that do not merge with the emblem. A deep red die on a similar red field loses separation regardless of whether the circle edge is crisp. If the source is opaque, changing the tool background will not recolor its existing rectangular background. If it contains transparent regions, the selected background can show through those regions. Compare the actual result rather than reasoning from color names alone. The ring remains baked-in artwork; it does not signal membership, moderation status, or any special account feature. The aim is a readable club symbol, not an imitation of a native interface indicator.

Export a square file and check the destination separately

Choose 400, 800, or 1024 for the working canvas according to the source and the handoff you need. These are not asserted Reddit account-avatar requirements. The output has the selected width and height even though the artwork looks circular. A 1024-pixel file does not contain more genuine information than the source can provide. If the emblem was prepared from a tiny screenshot, its edges may remain rough at every output size. Return to cleaner artwork when possible. Use the smaller local checks to judge composition, then open the downloaded image at a sensible viewing size to judge the actual exported edges.

PNG leaves the area beyond the circle transparent, while JPEG paints those square corners with the selected background. Neither choice removes an opaque background already present inside the source image. For the club emblem, compare a transparent-corner PNG against a flattened JPEG on the kinds of surroundings where you plan to review it. The destination may process transparency or crop the file differently, so keep the distinction between the downloaded file and its later presentation. This editor does not inspect a live Reddit account, test file acceptance, or certify an identical appearance across desktop, mobile, and every conversation surface.

When the separate task is a 300-pixel community icon, the Image Resizer can be used for a deliberate dimension change after preparing the artwork. Recheck the resulting file and the current community controls rather than treating that derivative as the account picture by default. Resizing is a separate operation; these tools do not pass files between themselves or update Reddit. Keep the club account export and community-icon derivative under distinct names. Even if they share the same emblem, the destination, dimensions, review history, and person responsible for the change can be different. A clear filename prevents an avoidable handoff mix-up.

Give organizers the right file for their review role

A club organizer approving the visible design may only need the final PNG or JPEG. Someone expected to adjust the crop needs the editable JSON instead. That project stores the whole prepared image along with the composition settings, within a 4 MiB project limit. It is not a cropped-only source package. If the original prepared sheet contains alternative club names or session notes, those pixels remain available beyond the circle. Before distributing it, inspect the full prepared source again. Local processing controls where composition happens, but it does not decide what you should include in a file sent to another person.

The PDF offers a reduced proof and explanatory settings, with the complete project attached as JSON. Its visible pages are rasterized. Keep TXT or copied notes when an organizer needs selectable text for the crop and style choices. The embedded project means the PDF deserves the same whole-source review as the standalone JSON. It is not automatically a safer file simply because the visible page shows only a small circle. For a broad committee review, send a finished image and a separate plain-language question. Reserve the editable project for the person who actually needs to reopen and modify the artwork.

State the decision you need from the reviewer. For Thursday Table, ask whether the two tiles and die identify the club clearly, whether the pips are still useful, and whether the picture is intended for the account rather than the community. Record the accepted revision outside the tool. Save the current project before closing because there is no autosave, and keep the original emblem source separately. The normalized prepared image is not a replacement for that master. Ordinary site assets still load while images are processed locally, so do not describe this workflow as an entirely offline website or a private cloud archive that keeps earlier versions for you.

Confirm the saved account image in the places that matter

Use the native uploaded-image option available for the intended Reddit account when making the change manually. Reddit documents a route for choosing a new image separately from styling an avatar, though exact controls should be checked in the current interface. Do not enter community appearance settings unless the approved task is actually the community icon. After saving, review the account profile and relevant conversation views where the image is shown. The tool has not performed those checks for you. If a surface presents the emblem differently from the circular study, judge that actual result before deciding the artwork is ready for routine use.

Look for a useful distinction between a design problem and a destination problem. If the local PNG already loses the pips at small sizes, improve the emblem or crop. If the downloaded image is clear but the saved native view looks unexpectedly tight, inspect the destination crop and processing. If an old image remains visible somewhere, confirm the intended account and saved profile before creating a whole new design. Avoid reading every difference as evidence that one numerical export size is wrong. The same square artwork can be processed or presented in different ways, and the local editor cannot diagnose account-side display behavior.

Keep the accepted club picture through ordinary changes of game, session theme, or campaign. Session-specific details belong in the recap rather than forcing a new account identity each week. Store the approved image, project, and destination note together, then return to the Reddit-context maker for a deliberate revision when needed. For supported recurring account work, SMTasker is a separate product to evaluate. It does not receive this project directly or turn the emblem into an automatic avatar change. A useful account picture is one finished asset; maintaining the club account is a broader workflow with its own review decisions.

Questions about Reddit Profile Picture

Does this make a Snoo avatar or upload a custom Reddit picture?

It prepares a still custom image file that you can review for a manual account-picture change. It does not control the Reddit avatar builder, create a styled Snoo character, or upload anything. Reddit treats an uploaded image and a styled avatar as distinct options for an account avatar.

Is the community icon size also the account avatar size?

Do not treat them as the same specification. Reddit documents a 300 x 300 image for community icons, managed separately from account images. The maker exports 400, 800, or 1024 square working canvases. Prepare and check a community-icon derivative separately when that is the actual task.

Will the circle preview match every place Reddit shows my image?

No. It is a local circular composition study, not a universal Reddit interface template. Review the saved image in the actual profile and relevant conversation views. Keep essential emblem details comfortably inside the composition, and do not assume every surface uses identical masking or processing.
