One spoken step, fully explained

Reddit Audio Trimmer

Prepare a spoken tutorial step that someone can question, repeat, and discuss. Keep the necessary setup and result together before adding the audio to a separate video.

Use the Audio Trimmer with Reddit selected for local asset preparation. The output is a WAV for an editor or an allowed separate handoff, not an automatic native audio post.

Define the small question the tutorial will answer

Picture a tabletop club explaining a house-made practice exercise with a square tile and a wooden marker. The spoken step tells a learner to place the marker on the near edge, rotate the tile clockwise by a quarter turn, and check that the marker ends on the left edge. This is an invented teaching example, not a rule attributed to a published game. The club wants to discuss whether that explanation is clear in a short video. Start with that narrow purpose. A clip that only says rotate it once would be shorter, but it would omit both the starting arrangement and the test of success.

Listen to the full supplied narration and identify the setup, action, and check. Keep those three parts together unless the picture and surrounding text genuinely provide a missing part. For the candidate here, select source time 8.400 to 26.900 from a fifty eight second recording. The final spoken check finishes around 25.700, leaving 1.200 seconds of room sound afterwards. The selected interval is 18.500 seconds, chosen for this explanation rather than as a Reddit upload limit. If another learner cannot work out the starting edge, the answer is a clearer instruction or demonstration, not simply a shorter cut.

Write the discussion question before polishing the sound. For example, ask whether the phrase near edge makes sense from the camera position, or whether the starting edge needs a visible label. That invites feedback about a specific teaching decision rather than asking people to infer what kind of criticism would help. The audio tool does not evaluate instructional accuracy or predict the discussion. It cannot determine that the marker moved correctly just because the waveform has a neat ending. Treat the spoken clip as one part of a small demonstration whose words, pictures, and question must agree with one another.

Choose a source with understandable speech

Load a local audio-only recording that contains the complete explanation. The source ceiling is 32 MiB and 180 seconds, with mono or stereo audio. Browser decoding determines whether an actual WAV, MP3, M4A, OGG, FLAC, or audio-only WebM can be used. A file containing video is not accepted as a shortcut, and the tool does not extract audio from a recorded tabletop demonstration. If your source is a camera video, make an appropriate audio export in another editor first. Keep that export linked to the original project in your own records so the later video assembly uses the right take.

Listen for the sounds that compete with the instruction. A marker placed hard on the table can produce a louder transient than the words around it. Another player speaking at the same time can obscure clockwise or left. Level changes affect the entire selected mix, so neither problem becomes separated from the voice by turning it up. This is not AI cleanup, denoising, or voice isolation. If the important direction is unclear in the recording, choose a better take or record one separately. A technically accepted file is only a starting point; it does not mean the explanation is intelligible enough to teach from.

Accepted audio is prepared at 48000 Hz and may be resampled from its original rate. Its one or two channels are preserved rather than automatically remixed into a new layout. The initial range selects the first thirty seconds or the whole source if shorter, so change it to the spoken step you actually intend. The original player does not autoplay. Start it yourself and confirm which take you loaded, whether the instruction refers to the same tile arrangement as the planned picture, and whether any unrelated conversation should be excluded. Local processing avoids an input upload, but it does not replace this content review.

Trim around the instruction rather than inside it

Enter Start time 8.400 and End time 26.900, then compare the candidate with a little surrounding source audio. Preserve the first consonant of place and the small lead that makes the speaker sound natural. At the other boundary, retain the complete phrase identifying the left edge. Direction words often carry the practical difference between a correct and incorrect action. A clip that removes left may still sound like a fluent sentence fragment, yet become useless for checking the exercise. Listen for meaning as well as smoothness; an elegant entrance cannot compensate for an omitted condition.

Use the waveform to locate likely pauses, table taps, and concentrated speech regions, not to read the instruction. The display comes from actual PCM data but does not identify words or tell you when the demonstration is complete. A low amplitude section may contain a softly spoken direction. Before excluding it, audition it with the surrounding sentence. If the speaker pauses between the starting arrangement and the rotation, consider whether that pause gives the learner time to locate the marker. This tool selects one continuous interval; it does not automatically remove internal gaps or rearrange the order of the spoken steps.

At the prepared rate, our boundaries become start frame 403200 and exclusive end frame 1291200. The difference is 888000 frames, or 18.500 seconds. More generally, the tool rounds each requested boundary upward to a prepared sample frame, with the end bounded by the source. This is precise addressing, not automatic word boundary recognition. Leaving End time blank would extend to the prepared source end and include unrelated instructions later in the take. Use the actual exported duration when recording the decision, and listen after preparing rather than approving an interval solely because its start and end arithmetic matches the brief.

Keep fades outside the important direction words

For the first candidate, try no Fade-in and a 0.250 second Fade-out. The opening already has a clean short lead, so an extra entrance fade may not help. The closing fade occupies only the end of the 1.200 second tail after the final spoken check. These are starting choices for this recording, not fixed settings for tutorials. If the opening clicks, compare a tiny fade with a slightly earlier start. If the final direction becomes quieter, move the end or shorten the fade. Do not accept a less understandable instruction just because its waveform now looks more symmetrical.

Fades are linear amplitude changes at the selected boundaries. Each can be zero to ten seconds, and their combined lengths must not exceed the actual clip duration. They do not wait for the narrator, detect a sentence, or duck a tabletop tap under speech. A long closing fade could reduce the exact phrase the learner needs to check. Keep the editorial test concrete: can someone hear the starting edge, the clockwise movement, and the final left edge without guessing? If not, find the source or timing problem. This editor has no hidden speech enhancement mode that makes an overlong fade harmless.

Listen to the boundary in its intended visual context later as well. The audio may end neatly while the hand is still turning the tile, making the demonstration feel unfinished. Conversely, the image may settle long before a lengthy room tail ends. Use the video timeline to coordinate the visible action and the approved sound. Do not trim the final word simply to meet the end of an existing visual template. If you need a pause after the instruction for discussion, that pause can be designed in the separate video assembly instead of being confused with the selected recording or treated as automatically generated silence.

Keep the demonstration review human

Check the actual export instead of chasing a level target

Prepare once at Level 0 dB to establish a baseline for the selected instruction. Listen at a consistent playback volume, then decide whether a deliberate level change is useful. The available range is -24 to +12 dB, in 0.1 dB steps. Those limits describe the control, not a recommended Reddit sound level. Constant gain scales table taps and room noise along with speech. It does not make every word equally loud. If a soft direction is masked by a simultaneous tap, changing the overall gain cannot change their relationship; another take or an earlier mix decision may be needed.

The tool re-decodes its actual WAV and reports sample peak and RMS from the exported samples. These are useful factual measurements of that file, not a readability score for the instruction. They are not LUFS, true peak, or a platform compliance standard. A table knock can dominate the sample peak while a softly spoken left remains hard to hear. RMS can also change when you include more quiet tail without improving the spoken step. Keep the measurement and the learning question separate. Approve the asset because the full instruction is audible and correct, not because a displayed number looks comfortably familiar.

If the processed floating point output would exceed full scale, preparation is refused. Reduce Level and rebuild instead of expecting the tool to hide clipping or automatically limit peaks. This refusal protects the export process from adding that overload, but it does not repair distortion already in the recording. A lower gain can make a previously clipped table tap quieter without recovering its original shape. Listen to the completed candidate from beginning to end, then inspect the eventual video mix again. Added music, duplicated narration, or another editor setting can change the sound after the standalone WAV has passed its own checks.

Match the spoken step to a visible demonstration

Download the approved WAV and import it manually into a video editor with the tabletop demonstration. Show the starting marker position clearly before the rotation begins. The invented exercise assumes the near edge is nearest the camera, so keep the viewpoint consistent while the instruction is spoken. A camera move or reversed clip can make the left edge ambiguous even when the narration is unchanged. The audio trimmer cannot synchronize hands, check movement direction, or create the video. Watch the assembled result as a learner would, following the words rather than using your own familiarity to fill in what the image failed to show.

If you add captions, keep them tied to the approved narration. The Add Subtitles to Video tool is a separate step for a prepared video and supplied subtitle file; this audio workflow does not transcribe the speech for it. Check directional words and the timing of the final check especially carefully. A caption that says right while the voice says left creates a new problem rather than an accessible explanation. Keep any visible labels large enough for the actual video composition, and do not cover the marker with text precisely when the learner needs to inspect its position.

Review the complete video both with sound and without it. With sound, check that the instruction arrives before or alongside the action rather than after the tile has already turned. Without sound, check whether the starting arrangement and final position can still be understood from the picture and checked text. These passes do not guarantee how every viewer will interpret the tutorial, but they expose avoidable contradictions. Preserve the discussion question separately from the procedural instruction. The post can ask for feedback about clarity while the video itself gives a complete example to examine, instead of requiring a comment thread to reveal the missing final step.

Hand off the WAV without mistaking a report for audio

The production download is 16-bit PCM WAV at 48000 Hz, retaining mono or stereo. Output must be at least 0.25 seconds, no longer than 120 seconds, and at most 24 MiB. For an 18.500 second mono result, the sample payload is 1776000 bytes before container overhead; stereo uses twice that amount. The export can be larger than a compressed source, even after trimming. It is an editing asset rather than an MP3 or AAC delivery option. Confirm that the collaborator receives the WAV itself, not merely a screenshot of the waveform or a file with the edit decisions.

Settings JSON saves the chosen context, range, fades, gain, authored title, and note. It contains no audio, source filename, or metrics. An editor cannot reconstruct the tabletop voiceover from those settings alone. Keep the recording and approved WAV separately identifiable in your own folder or production log. Opening settings retains the currently loaded source, which may be the wrong take with similar timing. If the imported range is outside that source, fix the mismatch; do not assume an automatic clamp has found the intended sentence. Even a valid imported interval needs an audition against the spoken instruction before it is approved.

Use copied review text, TXT, CSV, or PDF when the club needs a record of the edit. The PDF attaches complete settings and review JSON but no audio or source filename, and its visible pages are rasterized. Titles and notes can still contain names or private planning information, so review them before sharing. A useful note might say that the final left-edge check was retained, rather than including unrelated club conversation. Give reviewers the finished video when asking whether the demonstration is clear. The report explains the preparation choices; it cannot show whether a hand obscures the marker in the assembled video.

Bring a reviewable example into the discussion

Use the posting options actually available in the intended Reddit community. Not every community offers the same post types, so do not assume that selecting Reddit in a local tool enables a native WAV attachment. This workflow prepares sound for a separately assembled video or an allowed separate audio handoff. Check the finished video and written description through the destination controls yourself. Keep the post focused on the exercise and the specific clarity question. There is no need to turn a small teaching example into a broad claim about every tabletop game, or to present the tool output as proof that the instruction must be understandable.

If feedback identifies a missing direction or a confusing camera angle, revise the part that caused the problem. Adding a longer fade will not explain which edge is near, and changing Level will not correct a reversed demonstration. If you change any audio input, press Prepare audio again before exporting. The old prepared result becomes stale rather than silently remaining the approved current file. Replace the asset in the video project intentionally and check the new complete video. This makes the revision traceable: the club can tell whether the wording, picture, boundary, or level changed when comparing the next example with the original discussion.

Save the files you need before leaving the browser because there is no autosave. Decoded buffers and prepared output are released on leaving; browser history may retain a File for an explicit Restore audio action, but a reload requires selecting the source again. For another teaching step, return to the Reddit-context Audio Trimmer and check its own setup, action, and result. SMTasker is a separate option for supported account routines, not a shortcut around this production review. The editor does not import settings there, operate audio posting bots, or automatically submit the tutorial to a community.

Questions about Reddit Tutorial Audio

Can this tool submit an audio tutorial to Reddit?

No. It prepares a local WAV and does not submit posts. Use that sound in a separate video editor or an allowed separate handoff, then inspect the posting options available in the intended community.

Can the waveform tell me where the spoken step ends?

It can help locate quieter regions, but it does not identify words or instructional meaning. Listen for the complete setup, action, and result, then audition the actual prepared WAV.

Will imported settings find the same sentence in another take?

No. Opening settings retains the currently loaded audio and applies time-based settings, not a transcript match. Select the correct recording, resolve any invalid range, and listen before approving the result.
