Put the object and the uncertain detail in one frame
Reddit Photo Collage Maker for Useful Detail Posts
Make a detail question easier to follow by keeping the full object and the relevant close views together in one reviewed still image.
Open the Photo Collage Maker for Reddit with two to nine supplied photos. You control the arrangement and framing; the result is one flattened image prepared for a separate posting step.
Ask for one observation rather than a complete diagnosis
Imagine Eli, a fictional furniture hobbyist, documenting a shallow wooden drawer that sits unevenly in a cabinet. He wants a Reddit discussion to help identify which visible relationship deserves a closer look, not to declare a repair from photographs alone. His five images show the complete cabinet, the closed drawer front, the left runner, the right runner, and the underside of the drawer. The collage should help a reader relate the close views to the whole object. It cannot establish dimensions that were never measured or reveal what sits behind a part that was not photographed.
Narrow the question before arranging the images. Eli asks whether the visible gap appears concentrated at one side or continues across the drawer front. That question gives the closed view a clear role and explains why both runners are included. A vague request to fix the cabinet would invite answers based on missing information. Keep measurements, handling observations, and the circumstances of the problem in the accompanying text, distinguishing what was observed from what is suspected. The picture can show a tilted front; it cannot independently establish the cause of the tilt or whether the cabinet stood level when the photograph was made.
Select evidence without making every photograph look equally conclusive. A bright close view of the left runner may be easier to read than a dark right runner photograph, but that difference does not mean only the left side matters. Retake the unclear view if possible. Eli also avoids including a staged photograph that presses the drawer into a straighter position without explaining that pressure. Good composition should make uncertainty easier to discuss, not polish it away. Write a simple review goal: readers can identify the whole cabinet, see the uneven front, and locate both runner views without guessing which side they represent.
Keep orientation and useful context in the sources
Decide how to name left and right before photographing details. In this example, Eli uses left and right as viewed from the front of the cabinet, then states that convention in the post text. That is a documentation choice for this fictional set, not something the editor infers. Keep a little cabinet structure around each runner so the close views remain recognizable. Two extreme crops of similar wooden strips may be visually tidy yet impossible to place. If a photograph is rotated or needs a different source boundary, prepare it separately before adding it; tile framing does not supply a general rotation or perspective correction workspace.
Import still PNG, JPEG, or WebP photos through Add photos. The source checks allow up to 15 MiB per file, a maximum edge of 12000 pixels, and a maximum area of 40 megapixels. The working version is prepared to no more than a 1200 pixel edge, one megapixel, and one MiB as PNG. Larger sources may be reduced. Check the prepared dimensions and examine the narrow runner edges in that version. A close view that depended on tiny original detail may need a better source photograph rather than a larger zoom number later. Your original device files remain unchanged by the preparation step.
Inspect the scene beyond the cabinet. A room view can include family photographs, a delivery label, or a reflection that has no place in a public question. Eli chooses a plain background and a clean retake. For a necessary source with a private detail, use the Image Redactor to make a reviewed covered copy before composing. Do not depend on a temporary tile crop as the only privacy measure. Give Photo name neutral identifiers such as Front gap and Left runner. These are review labels, not visible captions, and they can appear in inventories sent to another person.
Make the relationship between wide and close views visible
Try Balanced grid on a Square canvas for the five images. The first row holds three photos and the second holds two, with every row using its full width. There is no empty sixth position. Eli places the whole cabinet, closed front, and underside across the first row, then the left and right runners in the wider lower row. That gives the paired details more room without pretending the entire set is a sequence of repair steps. The arrangement works only if the wide cabinet photo remains large enough to establish orientation. If it becomes a tiny overview, reduce the number of included views.
Compare Hero left when the full cabinet is necessary to interpret the details. Put that photograph first so it becomes the large left image; the remaining four fill the supporting area. This sacrifices some room for each close view in exchange for a stronger physical reference. Choose based on the question, not on an assumption that a hero arrangement always looks more professional. In Eli’s draft, the drawer front is more important than the cabinet legs, so he tests the front photograph as the hero instead. That version makes the gap easier to find but requires clearer orientation in the surrounding post text.
The canvas choices are preparation dimensions: Square is 1200 by 1200, Portrait is 1080 by 1350, Vertical is 1080 by 1920, and Landscape is 1600 by 900 pixels. None is a promise about a Reddit placement or a particular community’s posting options. Eli chooses Square because the front view and runner pair remain readable together, then checks the exported image in his actual draft. Look at both lower tiles without zooming the editor: can you still recognize the runner ends? If the answer is no, use fewer views or a different hierarchy before preparing the image for its destination.
Preserve the edges that make the question answerable
Use Fit whole image for the closed drawer front when both outside corners are needed to judge the gap. The entire prepared photograph stays centered inside its tile, even if some surrounding background remains. This mode does not respond to Zoom or focal position controls. Eli accepts the extra space because losing one corner would remove the basis for comparison. A visually filled rectangle is not automatically a better evidence image. If the source includes too much irrelevant room, make a more suitable source capture rather than assuming that containment can both show everything and isolate only the drawer at the same time.
Choose Fill tile for a runner detail only after identifying the important endpoints. Fill can crop even at Zoom 100 when source and tile shapes differ. Adjust Focal x and Focal y, each from 0 to 100, to keep the mounting point and runner edge in view. Zoom runs from 100 to 300 and tightens the framing. Eli starts with the minimum zoom so a screw near the edge does not disappear during a search for a cleaner composition. Enlarging a prepared photograph does not recover lost wood texture or reveal a hidden junction. If the evidence is not there, another photograph is the useful next step.
For pointer framing, select the relevant tile and drag inside that selected Fill tile photo, then release to commit. Escape or pointer cancellation abandons the active drag. For a keyboard route, choose the item through Photo to edit and enter numeric Zoom, Focal x, and Focal y values. Center crop sets Zoom to 100 and both focal coordinates to 50. Eli checks the two runner views side by side after every change, looking for equivalent structural context rather than identical zoom values. Two photographs made from different distances can use the same numeric settings and still show very different amounts of the cabinet.
After the evidence is ready

Reorder the evidence without silently changing its meaning
Use Move earlier and Move later to change the ordered photo set. A thumbnail selection chooses an item for editing; it is not an order change. Eli moves the left runner before the right runner so the visible pair matches his stated viewing convention. He then reads the post again to remove an old reference to the upper right picture, because positions may change when the layout or photo count changes. Prefer descriptive references such as the closed front view where possible. The neutral Photo name is useful for internal review, but readers of the exported artwork will not see that name printed beside the tile.
In Hero left or Hero top, the first photo gets the hero role. If the front gap becomes the focus of the discussion, move that view to the first position and inspect every supporting tile again. The selected photo’s crop settings remain its own, but its new tile can have a different shape. This can change which endpoints are visible even without a numeric edit. Eli saves a private project version before switching the lead view so he can return to the earlier arrangement. That local archive records a composition choice; it does not prove which version communicates the object more accurately.
Replace photo is the right action when Eli retakes the right runner in better light. It keeps the item’s position, name, fit mode, zoom, and focal coordinates, so he must review the new source against those retained choices. Add photos would extend the set instead and leave the unclear view present. Remove photo is useful when the underside adds no relevant information, but the remaining grid will redistribute its photos. After a removal, inspect the front and runner pair from scratch. A composition can improve by losing one weak image, yet the changed geometry can also hide a corner that was previously safe.
Keep visual treatment from becoming an argument
Use one of the five opaque Color themes to separate the photographs without implying a result. Eli avoids choosing a dramatic surround merely because it makes the darker gap look more pronounced. Compare themes while keeping the framing unchanged, then settle on a background that lets both light and dark wood edges remain readable. These are composition colors, not filters applied to the photographs. The tool does not normalize lighting between views. If a shadow might explain an apparent gap, say so in the post and include a better photograph rather than relying on the background to make one interpretation feel more convincing.
Set Gap large enough that separate views do not merge into an apparent continuous cabinet surface. Keep Margin economical so the lower runner pair retains room. Corner radius deserves particular care in an evidence image: rounded corners can hide exactly the small endpoint a commenter needs. Eli uses a minimal radius and checks each outer corner after styling. If large margins or gaps leave tiles too small, reduce those settings or change the layout. The editor refuses an unworkable geometry instead of overlapping photos or quietly dropping one. That refusal is a cue to simplify the arrangement, not to assume the omitted information was unnecessary.
Title and Footer are optional overall text areas outside the tiles, not per-photo annotation tools. A brief title such as Drawer gap views can identify the subject, but it cannot label every runner or draw an arrow to a screw. Title accepts up to 80 characters and Footer up to 60; the renderer fits the full text or refuses it rather than cutting the words. Eli keeps the orientation explanation in post text because it needs more care than a short band allows. Recheck the photos after adding any text, since its reserved space changes how much of the canvas remains available for the evidence.
Test whether the flattened image supports a useful reply
Download the PNG and open it independently of the editor. Check the two drawer corners, runner endpoints, and the visual connection to the complete cabinet. The file is one flattened collage, so a reader does not receive separate full resolution originals by opening a tile. If the lower views are not useful at a normal reading size, reduce the set or change the hierarchy. JPEG is also available as a lossy output at quality 0.94, and it needs a separate check for thin edges and small gaps. The composition has an opaque background; editing outlines and neutral photo labels are not part of the artwork.
Ask someone unfamiliar with the cabinet to identify the views before asking for their opinion about the gap. If they cannot locate the right runner, the image has a navigation problem before it has a diagnosis problem. Use the Alt Text Writer for a separate description task based on the finished image, not on private source details. The accompanying explanation should distinguish visible relationships from Eli’s measurements and suspicions. A concise image description can establish the arrangement, while the post text carries the factual observations needed for discussion. Neither should restore information deliberately excluded from the public version.
Check the complete draft in the intended Reddit interface without assuming a universal native preview. Keep the focused question near the image and make the left and right convention explicit. If someone requests a closer view later, prepare a new reviewed image rather than sending the whole editable project for convenience. Any edit to the current collage makes earlier exports old versions. Name the approved local file so it is distinguishable from the first draft, and check the attachment you actually selected. Clear evidence comes from matching the intended composition, the final file, and the surrounding explanation, not from having a successful export alone.
Share the question without sharing the whole working archive
Save project creates an editable JSON that contains the full prepared uncropped photographs. Areas outside the tile crops remain in that file, including room context that never appears in the exported collage. It is not an image-free settings preset. Original filenames and source metadata are not retained, but visible personal material inside the prepared photos can still be present. Eli keeps the project private and shares only the approved artwork. If the project must go to a trusted collaborator, review the complete prepared sources first. Cropping or rounded corners cannot make that archive equivalent to a public, flattened image.
Download PDF provides the edited collage proof and complete readable inventory, with image-free settings and review JSON attachments. It does not attach the full editable project or the uncropped photos. That narrower scope still leaves the visible collage and inventory labels in the document, so inspect them before sharing. Full CSV, TXT, and copied review text offer inventory alternatives when a collaborator only needs to check order or crop choices. For a public question, those production records are usually unnecessary. Keep the distinction practical: the public image explains the cabinet, while the private project allows later reframing of the prepared source collection.
The browser processes these photos locally while ordinary site resources continue to load. There is no account login or autosave for the composition. Save your approved image and private project before navigation. A page restored from browser history may need the explicit Restore photos action; after a reload, use Open project or select the sources again. Return to the Reddit collage workspace when a new photograph answers a missing question. Keep revisions tied to a clear observation so the next image adds useful evidence instead of merely rearranging the same uncertainty into a more polished rectangle.
Questions about Reddit
Can the collage show which part caused the drawer problem?
It can organize the photos you supply, but it does not diagnose the object or infer unseen measurements. Use a focused question and separate observations from suspected causes.
How can I keep both drawer corners visible?
Select that photo and try Fit whole image. It contains the complete prepared photograph. If Fill tile is needed, inspect both corners after every crop, layout, and styling change.
Can I send the project when someone asks for a closer look?
Treat project JSON as private: it stores full prepared uncropped photos. A new reviewed image is often a narrower handoff. The PDF has an edited proof and image-free JSON attachments, but its visible contents still need review.
