Instagram Follow Automation with AI: Build a Focused Campaign
The Instagram follow workflow works best when the audience and boundaries are specific. In this demonstration, Codex connects to SMTasker through MCP and helps build a follow campaign from a brief, while you review the sources, filters, days, and limits.

The Instagram example starts from a beginner-friendly strength-training account. It uses Codex through MCP to prepare a Follow campaign, then a separate image-capable AI provider to assess profile relevance during execution.

What happens in the video
Give the assistant a precise brief
The presenter asks Codex for a relevant audience, suitable source accounts, a conservative schedule, and an explanation of its choices before saving anything. The suggested sources are followers of Jeff Nippard and Nerd Fitness: SMTasker is meant to find people in those audiences, not merely follow the creators themselves.
Inspect the proposed limits
The example plan uses 1–2 follows per hour, 5–8 per day, weekdays, and a 9 a.m.–6 p.m. UTC+1 window. These are illustrative settings from one recording, not guaranteed safe limits or a substitute for reviewing your own account and platform rules. The presenter approves a separate step before the campaign is created.
Check the saved campaign
In Automations, the Follow tool’s Sources tab uses “follow users from target account followers” with the two usernames entered as source lines. Settings shows the proposed ranges, days, and hours. This verification matters because a good chat proposal is useful only if the saved tool matches it.
Add the profile relevance filter
The recording enables Filter based on profile data and writes an AI instruction to look for public signs of lifting or workout interest. Ambiguous profiles should be skipped rather than inventing an interest from appearance. The separate image-capable AI provider evaluates profile screenshots; the Codex MCP connection by itself does not supply that runtime filter.
Check execution evidence
The video illustrates the action path on a phone, but its animation is not a live capture of each individual follow. Review the connected device, account status, campaign Results, and activity log after starting. Audience relevance and genuine content still determine whether a visit becomes lasting engagement.
WATCH FOR THESE DETAILS
Check this as you follow along
- Confirm you are targeting followers of the source accounts, not the accounts themselves.
- Approve campaign creation only after the account, schedule, and limits are clear.
- Provide a separate image-capable provider for profile filtering if that option is used.
- Ask the AI filter to rely on public profile evidence and skip uncertain cases.
- Treat the phone illustration as a workflow explanation; use Results for actual execution.
AFTER WATCHING
Put this into practice
If the campaign reaches the wrong audience, refine the sources or filter prompt before increasing activity. The Codex MCP lesson shows how to begin with read-only access, and the first-actions lesson explains the dashboard Results and Summary tabs.
