Get set for this lesson
This connection lesson assumes the local client is installed and the phone’s Developer Options and USB debugging are already prepared. Keep the phone unlocked for the first handshake.
FOLLOW THE WALKTHROUGH
What happens in the video
Connect and watch the phone
Plug the Android device into the computer with a data-capable USB cable. The recording returns to the SMTasker Devices screen, but the phone may still ask for USB debugging authorization. Approve the computer on the device itself before expecting it to appear in the dashboard.
Confirm the Devices row
The dashboard refreshes and displays the connected device. The presenter points out its name, model, Android version, serial number, and Online status. That row is the practical checkpoint: a cable plugged in without an Online device is not a completed connection.
Refresh and troubleshoot
Device discovery may take roughly 20–30 seconds in the recording. If the row is still absent after about a minute, use the page refresh and recheck the USB cable, phone debugging switch, authorization prompt, and whether the local client is running. Replugging the cable can trigger a missing prompt.
WATCH FOR THESE DETAILS
Check this as you follow along
- Look for Online in the Devices list, not just a charging icon on Android.
- Compare the shown model and serial number if you have more than one phone connected.
- If the device disappears later, check the local client and physical connection before changing automation settings.
AFTER WATCHING
Put this into practice
With an Online device, you can add or sync social accounts and then configure a small first action. The connection video ends before it creates a campaign.
