Get set for this lesson

Sign in first and use the download shown inside your SMTasker account. The recording follows Windows; Mac users should use the separate Mac lesson for the .dmg and pairing steps.

FOLLOW THE WALKTHROUGH

What happens in the video

Find the local client

The presenter starts at smtasker.com, signs in, opens the app dashboard, and uses the download control near the lower-left area. The Windows installer comes from the signed-in account, rather than a public marketing-page download link.

Run the Windows installer

After download, the installer is opened and the Windows protection dialog appears in the recording. Before allowing an installer to run, confirm that it came from your SMTasker dashboard and inspect the publisher and file details. The video then proceeds through the installation screens.

Let the client check its tools

The setup checks the Android Debug Bridge component needed for device communication. If that check fails, the video shows a Retry option. Repeated failure is a reason to contact support with the exact error, rather than moving on to a campaign that cannot reach the phone.

Keep the client running

The installed Windows client is shown in the system tray beside the clock when minimized. Closing it or shutting down the computer interrupts the device connection. With the computer side ready, the next lesson prepares Android Developer Options and USB debugging.

WATCH FOR THESE DETAILS

Check this as you follow along

  • Verify the installer source and publisher before responding to a Windows security prompt.
  • Check that the client is still available in the system tray after setup.
  • If the ADB check fails more than once, capture its message for support.
  • Remember that client installation alone does not make the Android phone online.

AFTER WATCHING

Put this into practice

Continue to Part 3 for the phone settings, then Part 4 to confirm the device row in the dashboard. If you use macOS, follow the dedicated Mac tutorial instead of copying Windows-specific prompts.
